With all this rain I thought it would be nice to share a wedding from The Southern Mansion in Cape May NJ.  This great couple had a small wedding with 20 guests at the Southern Mansion and no bridal party and in keeping with the theme of simplicity you’ll notice Stacy went with out a vail for the day while Chris wore a simple suit.  With amazing flowers by Melissa of Season’s in Bloom and hair and make-up done by the always amazing Maryann Mendez This was a great end of summer wedding and I long for the beautiful blue sky and the amazing 82 degree weather.  Dear mother nature please send up summer soon….

I had the opportunity to do a favor for a great venue The Hamilton Manor they have been in need of some evening photography to showcase how great their building looks at night so I was more then happy to help them out and stop by Sunday night for a photo shoot. Sunday you say but hey it’s only about 20 minutes from my home and after the shoot I felt compelled to stop by DQ to get a shake.

Albums are your storybook the fairytale with the happy ending in as few as 24 or as many as 50 pages, it tells the story of how you joined your lives together.  When getting married some brides choose photographers solely on the albums they offer while others stare at the two styles the Modern & the Classic and asking many of the same questions about them try to decide what album will best showcase their story.  Here are some of the most asked questions as well as a bit about the two types of albums and being a photographer some pictures of each.

Rita Rojas Sullivan Photography

The Classic Album is a matted album meaning it has die cut mats in many configurations to allow prints of different sizes and shapes to be combined  for an album of simplicity and elegance.  The edges of the albums are foil gilded in gold, silver, black or can be left in the unfinished.  The photograph’s are “framed”   in either gold, silver, black, white, ivory, gray or brown and presented on a choice of black, white or ivory pages.  The classic album cover choices are limited to leather or suede options however can hold multiple “cameos” or pictures set into the covers.  The Classic Album is available in sizes from 5×7 to 12×12. Below is the 12×12 Classic album with a distressed saddle cover and branding imprint on the cover.

The Modern Album is a bound hard cover book with photographs custom mounted back to back to create a thin invisibly hinged panoramic album.  This handcrafted book has the same strength and durability as the Classic Album however the thinner pages and cover allow for a more streamlined presentation.  With a large array of cover choices from the Standard leather, suede, silk. linen, to the upgraded vegan wrap canvas, metal, acrylic, and two tone textured ostrich this album is a chameleon with or without cameos.  The Modern Album is available in sizes from 5×5 to 12×18 with square, vertical and horizontal orientations.  Below the Modern Album with the pewter silk cover and multi cameos followed by the vegan canvas wrap cover.

These two albums can tell the same story of a wedding in two very different ways.

So  as the wedding season gears up I am pulling together my camera bag (my new camera bag) and some must haves that help me on a wedding day.  SO….These are a few of my favorite things (she sings)

1. My epiphanie bag is that a purse nope it’s a camera bag gone are the days of ugly manish camera bags I am a girl and a professional photographer why should I tote around an ugly case filled with my equipment and lip gloss and no place for a phone or awesome Juicy wallet.. hey girls just want to have fun and look cute in the process

2. my HUGE collection of Born Crown Shoes I discovered these shoes while shooting for Planet Shoes they are cute and have great padding and support so now I can wear a 4″ heel or a ballet flat all day without my feet hurting.

3. Water!  I have amassed a large collection of the steel water bottles so I have fresh water all day.

4. Granola Bars my new fav the 90 calorie Special K chocolate pretzel bar it’s chocolaty and pretzely and soooo good  for when I need a little pick me up

5. Client Cards.  New for this year all the wedding websites can be reached through the client lounge so I had some cards printed up to give to guests the day of the wedding so they know where to view the images

6. Burts Bees … well can you bring me some chapstick my lips hurt real bad…. ugh idiot!

7. Coffee!!!  Need I say more.

8. My assistants… Coco & Gigi they won’t be accompanying me on the wedding but as you can see from the pics they are very helpful

One of the new items I introduced last year have taken off like wildfire.  The Wedding Guest Book features images from the engagement sitting plus some baby photos if the couples choose.  I loved the idea of this as most people have a store bought guest book that goes back into the box after the wedding and sits there forever.  This custom book can stay out on your coffee table so you can enjoy the images from your engagement sitting plus you can read the messages of love the written by your guests on your wedding day.
